Fiddler on the Roof Opens in Tehran

A new off-off Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof was mistakenly taken too far off Broadway when the troupe's plane was diverted to Tehran due to snow conditions at Laguardia.

Plucky to the last, the group was asked to open for the Iranian Holocaust Conference, receiving what one reviewer politely called "a mixed reaction of seething hatred and appreciation for their craft." Each member of the troupe received 6 lead hollow-point armor piercing bullets as a final souvenir of the trip.
